A minimum
of 5,000 ducks and a maximum
of 7,500 ducks will be
entered in the race.

Ducks
will be launched into the
Dan River at approximately
3pm on Saturday, June 12,
2010. The Presenter will
establish the race course.
The Presenter reserves the
right to postpone or
reschedule the Race, or to
determine a winner by random
drawing, in the event of
inclement weather, acts of
God or other circumstances
beyond the Presenter’s
reasonable control.

Once the
ducks are launched, they are
on their own. No attempt to
free or interfere with any
duck is permitted, unless
deemed necessary by the
Presenter.

All ducks
entered will be provided by
the Presenter and shall
remain the property of the
Presenter.

A number
will be attached to each
duck corresponding to the
number on a chance ticket
(adoption paper). Multiple
duck entries from one ticket
will be assigned additional
duck numbers for
identification. Prizes will
be awarded to the holder of
each entry ticket in the
order the winning ducks
enter the winners trap at
the end of the race. Prizes
are non-transferable. All
prizes must be claimed from
the Presenter by June 30,
2010 and are subject to
vendor expiration dates.
Prizes will not be mailed or
shipped but must be picked
up at the address below. A
list of prizes and winners
can be obtained from the
Presenter by sending a
written request therefore,
and a self-addressed,
stamped return envelope to:

24592. Winners will also be
on the Presenter’s website
at
www.ducksonthedan.com.

The entry
portion of each chance
ticket (adoption paper) must
be completely filled out and
delivered to Presenter prior
to the race; or the entry
portion of the chance ticket
can be mailed to Presenter
at the address above and
must be received by
Presenter by 1pm on Friday,
June 11, 2010 or purchased
between 11:00 am and 2:30pm
on Race Day at Constitution
Square in South Boston on
June 12, 2010, for a chance
to be eligible to win any
prize. No other tickets are
eligible to win any prize.
Entrants assume the risk of
non-delivery of any entries
to Presenter or an
authorized representative of
Presenter.

No
purchase necessary to win.
The Presenter does request
$5 per entry to benefit the
charitable purposes of
Destination Downtown South
Boston, because adoption
forms not accompanied by $5
defeat the charitable nature
of this event, they are not
encouraged. However, one
free adoption paper per
person can be entered by
presenting a written request
in person to the address
above between the hours
9:00am to 4pm and submitting
therewith a self-addressed
return envelope for mailing
of the chance ticket
(adoption paper). Requests
made after June 5, 2010 at
4pm will not be honored.

Winners
will be announced in
Constitution Square after
the completion of the race
and tabulation of the
results. Entrants do not
need to be present to win a
prize. Winners will be
notified by U.S. Mail or by
telephone. A list of winners
will be available by written
request to DDSB at the
address above or on the
Presenter’s website
www.ducksonthedan.com.
Prizes must be claimed by
June 30th, 2010. All prizes
will be awarded. No cash
equivalent prizes will be
provided in lieu of the
designated prizes. Prizes
won by minors will be
awarded to the
parent/guardian. Winners
shall be responsible for the
payment of federal income
tax withholding, if any, on
all prizes for which income
taxes must be withheld prior
to delivery of the prize to
the winner.

Excess
ducks (not adopted) may be
launched into the Race. If
excess ducks are launched in
the Duck Race, and the first
duck to cross the finish
line is an excess duck, the
Grand Prize will be awarded
to the adoptive parents of
the first-adopted duck to
cross the finish line
thereafter. The remaining
smaller prizes will likewise
be awarded in similar
fashion.

The Board
of Directors of DDSB, race
judges and the Duck Race
Committee members are not
eligible to win. Winners
must prove eligibility.

By
entering, entrant’s release
Presenter and its members,
agents, employees,
supporters, volunteers,
Destination Downtown South
Boston, Inc and the various
organizations involved in
the presentation and
completion of the race from
any and all liability with
respect to prizes.
-
By
entering, winners consent to
the promotional use of their
names and likenesses without
additional compensation.
-
Chances
of winning depend on the
total number of qualified
entries.
-
This
event is subject to all
federal, state and local
laws and regulations and is
void where prohibited by
law.

On The Dan Derby Duck Race
and its logo are registered
trademarks of Great American
Duck Races, Inc. and no
other person or entity is
authorized to copy or
otherwise use them without
the express written consent
of Great American Duck
Races, Inc.
